Info for Students…

  • Bartering Fair: HEY! HEY! HEY! BAYSIDE!!! The Bartering Fair is in two weeks so get your items together! On Wednesday, Nov 30th in blocks 1 and 2 you will trade your items for other items that you want. Yes! Shopping without cash!!!! Remember to get your new or gently used items together asap and don’t forget to ask your guardians BEFORE you take the items to school for the BARTERING FAIRE on WEDNESDAY, Nov 30. This week, be sure to watch “one red paperclip” with your class.
  • Rubik’s Cube Club: Everyone interested in learning how to solve a Rubik’s cube, come to S115 today at lunch.
  • Leadership: There will be a leadership meeting today at lunch in the Home Ec room.
  • Art Room: The Art room will be closed today at lunch.
  • Grade 8 Competitive Basketball: Good luck to both the girls and boys competitive teams as they play at St Michael’s today.  
  • Grade 7 Boys Competitive Basketball: Reminder of your practice today at lunch.
  • Grade 6/7 Boys Rec Basketball: Reminder of your jamboree on Thursday after school. Team 1 plays at Bayside. Team 2 plays at North Saanich Middle School. Team 1 players need to be at Bayside by 3pm and Team 2 players need to be at North Saanich by 4pm.
  • Bayside Yearbook Cover Contest! If you are interested in designing this year’s yearbook cover, please submit your design to Ms. Isbister in the LC. Covers must be on 8.5/11 size paper, include colour, and include “Bayside Middle School” and the year 2022-23. Designs are due by Tuesday, November 22.
  • Grade Wide Basketball Bump Competition: Attention all Sharks!! Our next school wide competition is tomorrow!! Mr. Davidson will be hosting a school-wide basketball bump competition in the big gym tomorrow right after indoor eating time. All students are welcome, and there is no need to sign up…just show up in the gym right after indoor eating time. All rules and instructions will be provided before the tournament starts. There will be a grade six, seven, and eight tournament. Don’t feel like competing? Come down anyway and cheer your friends on. There will be prizes as well! Any questions please see Mr. Davidson…and as always GOOOOO sharks! 
  • Canada World Cup Spirit Day: Attention all Sharks, in case you haven’t heard yet…the men’s FIFA world cup starts this Sunday. Canada’s men's team has not competed in this tournament since 1986!! Many teachers who work at Bayside were not even born when that tournament was on TV!! Canada plays their first game next Wednesday against Belgium. The game will be playing during indoor eating time and lunch recess time on the big screen in the MPR…students who want to watch and receive teacher permission will be able to come down and watch. Finally, please wear red and white on that day to show your support for our team!! No red or white clothes?? Just wear your favourite soccer jersey!
